Terms and privacy

Service and availability
Individual educational tutoring for medical board examinations. This is not medical care, an official examination service, or a guarantee of an examination result. Stolzenberg Board Prep is independent of NBOME, NBME, FSMB and the Medical Council of Canada.
Every appointment requires the tutor's acceptance. Requests must be at least one hour ahead and no more than 60 days ahead. Unaccepted requests expire at the earlier of 96 hours after submission or the scheduled start, without charge. You may withdraw an unaccepted request without charge.
Short-notice acceptance is unlikely, especially outside US Eastern evening hours. Dr. Stolzenberg is a radiology resident whose clinical schedule can include evenings, nights and changing duties. Evenings are not guaranteed availability.
Prices and card authorization
The standard rate is $200 USD/hour. An active code assigned to your verified email gives a 5% discount, for $190 USD/hour. The code is reusable by that student while active, cannot be transferred, and can be deactivated by the tutor. Rates already agreed for a submitted booking remain recorded for that booking.
You authorize Stripe to save your card and authorize and charge it off-session under these terms. Submitting an unaccepted request does not charge a session fee. For accepted bookings, an authorization hold of 150% of the booked fee is placed within 24 hours of start, immediately when acceptance is within 24 hours. A hold can reduce available credit or debit funds. Payment authorization may require you to authenticate with your bank. An unresolved authorization must be fixed before the scheduled start; otherwise the booking cannot proceed through the platform.
Session billing
Join five minutes early for a technology check. Billing starts at the scheduled time if the tutor is ready, or when the tutor starts if later. Billing has a one-hour minimum and rounds actual billable time upward to five-minute increments. The tutor ends the session and finalizes the charge. A dropped connection alone does not finalize payment. Tutor-caused interruptions should be excluded through manual review.
The amount charged is capped at the authorized amount. Sessions do not include time beyond the booked duration plus 50% buffer. Additional time requires a separate booking. Unused authorized funds are released; your bank controls when they become available.
Cancellations, rescheduling and no-shows
Accepted bookings can be cancelled without charge more than 24 hours before their start. At or inside 24 hours, student cancellation or rescheduling incurs the full booked fee. For a short-notice accepted booking there is no free cancellation period. A student no-show incurs the booked fee after tutor review confirming that the tutor was available to provide the service. A tutor cancellation or inability to provide the service does not incur a student no-show fee.
The booking-management link lets you withdraw or cancel and displays the applicable fee before confirmation. If the request is accepted while you are withdrawing it, the page requires you to review the changed status before proceeding. Payment failures and other unresolved situations require tutor review; they are not permission for unlimited repeated charges.
Contact tutor@comlextutor.com promptly about an incorrect charge or service interruption. Appropriate corrections and refunds are processed through Stripe. A cancellation policy does not remove rights that applicable law provides.
Privacy and retention
We collect your name, verified email, requested time, selected exams, notes, uploaded reports and billing-consent records, including timestamp, terms version and IP address. These support scheduling, tutoring, payment administration and dispute handling.
Stripe handles card data; our application stores Stripe identifiers rather than full card numbers. Cloudflare hosts the website, database and private report storage. Resend sends transactional emails. 8x8 JaaS supplies video meetings. The shared whiteboard is provided by Excalidraw in a separate tab; its room link is private and must not be shared. These providers process data under their own privacy policies and may use infrastructure outside your country.
Uploaded score reports and tutoring notes are deleted from application storage after 90 days. Unsubmitted application drafts are deleted after 48 hours. Basic booking, payment and consent records may be retained for up to seven years for accounting and disputes. Provider records and backups follow the provider's retention practices. Resend emails can contain booking information; avoid putting sensitive report contents in emails.
Recording, streaming and transcription are not enabled by this application. Do not upload patient information, passwords, or unnecessary identifiers. Use material you are entitled to share and follow examination confidentiality rules. Keep your private session and booking links confidential.
For privacy requests, corrections or deletion requests, contact tutor@comlextutor.com. Some financial or dispute records may need to be retained. The service uses essential session cookies for tutor administration and security verification through Cloudflare Turnstile.
